Why counselling

You don't have to figure everything out alone.

Some things are difficult to explain.

You may feel overwhelmed without knowing exactly why. You may be carrying stress from work or studies, struggling with relationships, worrying about your future, or simply feeling that you need someone to talk to.

A Safe Place offers you time and space to slow down, talk openly, understand what you're experiencing, and explore ways forward that fit your life.

There is no judgement. No pressure to have all the answers.

Just a conversation that begins where you are.

Approaches

Trained in evidence-based therapeutic approaches, with a personalised focus on every individual.

Explained plainly, never as jargon.

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Noticing the thought patterns that quietly keep anxiety, stress or low mood going — and learning to question them.

  • Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy

Loosening rigid beliefs like “I must never fail” or “everyone has to approve of me” that make everyday life feel heavier.

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills

Practical skills for overwhelming moments: riding out distress, steadying strong emotions, staying grounded.

  • Gestalt approach

Staying with what is happening right now — what you feel in this moment, rather than only the story around it.

  • Behavioural approaches

Small, doable changes in what you do day to day, so the way you feel has room to shift too.

About

Meet Garima Agarwal

Counselling and Guidance

I started A Safe Place because so many people carry things quietly, waiting for the right moment to say them out loud.

I hold a Diploma in Counselling Psychology and provide online counselling and guidance in a calm, private, and non-judgemental setting.

My approach is simple: to listen without rushing, understand what you're going through, and help you explore practical ways of coping and moving forward.

Every session is guided by what you need that day.

Kind words

What clients say about the space

I had a counselling session with Garima regarding my fears and anxiety, and it was a really positive experience. She listened patiently, understood my concerns without judgment, and made me feel comfortable sharing my thoughts. Her guidance was practical, reassuring, and helped me look at things from a more positive perspective. I am grateful for her support and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and understanding counsellor.

I did not expect to feel so at ease on a video call. Nothing was rushed, and for the first time I felt genuinely listened to.
